As the MIAC's No. 1 seed for the third time in program history, St. Olaf is headed to the MIAC Playoffs for the ninth time ever and in the second consecutive conference season after clinching a berth in 2019 and fall competition being canceled due to COVID-19 in 2020. The Oles have won two MIAC Playoff titles previously, taking home the top prize in both 2011 and 2015. St. Olaf will have a bye through the quarterfinal round and will welcome the lowest remaining seed to Northfield for a 2:00 p.m. semifinal match on Wednesday.

No. 2 seed Carleton is making its MIAC-record 14th consecutive playoff appearance. The Knights have won it all on three occasions, with the most recent championship victory coming in 2018. The Knights will host the highest remaining seed on Wednesday in the semifinal round. That game will kickoff at 2:00 p.m.

The quarterfinal round is slated to begin on Monday, where No. 6 Saint John's will head to St. Peter for a matchup with No. 3 Gustavus at 12:00 p.m., while No. 4 Augsburg will host No. 5 Macalester in Minneapolis at 5:00 p.m. The Johnnies and Gusties will kickoff early due to the Gustavus women also hosting a quarterfinal playoff game in the afternoon.

Gustavus locked down the No. 3 seed and will be back in the conference tournament for the 15th time in program history and the fourth consecutive season. The Gusties are seven-time MIAC Playoff champions and won the last postseason crown back in 2019. Gustavus will host No. 6 Saint John's, a team returning to the MIAC Playoffs for the 11th time in program history and the second time in as many conference seasons. The Johnnies have one MIAC Playoff title in their trophy case after winning the conference tournament in 2005. Gustavus held off Saint John's, 1-0, back on September 24 in the lone regular-season game between the two teams. The Gusties hold a 3-2 advantage over the Johnnies in postseason play and have won their last two matchups against SJU in the MIAC Playoffs with the most recent win coming in the semifinal round of the 2019 Playoffs.

No. 4 seed Augsburg will return to the MIAC Playoffs for the first time since 2018. The Auggies have reached the conference tournament seven times in program history and won it all in 2010. Augsburg will host No. 5 Macalester on Monday evening. Macalester will be making its seventh straight trip to the conference tournament after clinching a playoff berth for the 12th time in program history. The Scots' only MIAC Playoff championship came in 2009. Augsburg edged Macalester, 1-0, back on September 18 in the regular season matchup. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs in the conference tournament.

The two quarterfinal winners will advance to Wednesday's semifinals, where No. 1 St. Olaf and No. 2 Carleton will be waiting. The bracket will re-seed following the first round, matching up the lowest remaining seed against the top-seeded Oles, while the Knights will welcome the higher seed to the other side of Northfield. Game times are tentatively set for 2:00 p.m.

Wednesday's two semifinal winners will meet on Saturday, November 6, in the 2021 MIAC Men's Soccer Playoff championship game. The game is tentatively scheduled for 1:00 p.m. The MIAC Playoff champion will receive the postseason championship plaque and the conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament.
